Turbomolekyyliset

Turbomolekyyliset is a Finnish term that translates to "turbomolecular" in English. It refers to a type of vacuum pump that utilizes a rotor spinning at very high speeds, often tens of thousands of revolutions per minute. This rapid rotation creates a flow of gas molecules from the inlet to the outlet, thereby reducing the pressure within a vacuum system. The pump's design typically involves multiple stages with blades angled to impart momentum to the gas molecules, pushing them towards the exhaust. Turbomolecular pumps are effective at achieving very low pressures, making them suitable for applications such as scientific research, semiconductor manufacturing, and space simulation. They are generally used in conjunction with a roughing pump to bring the system down to a pressure where the turbomolecular pump can operate efficiently.
