Tulliverkostojen

Tulliverkostojen (customs networks) is a Finnish term that refers to the networks, platforms, and collaborations through which customs administration operates. It denotes the collective system of institutions, procedures, and information flows that enable border controls, tariff enforcement, and facilitation of legal trade. In Finland, tulliverkostojen comprises public authorities, such as Finnish Customs (Tulli), the police, border guard, and tax administration, as well as private sector actors including shippers, freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics service providers, all connected via digital information systems.

The networks support several core functions: risk-based controls and enforcement; processing of customs declarations and duty collection; origin and compliance verification; and the collection of trade statistics. They also underpin international cooperation through the European Union and other partners, coordinating with EU-wide systems and standards such as the New Computerized Transit System (NCTS) and shared customs information platforms.
