Tukiarvoja

Tukiarvoja is a small archipelago located in the southwest part of the Finnish Gulf, in the vicinity of the Ryssänsalmi channel. Geographically, it is situated approximately 30 kilometers south of the Finnish city of Korpo in the southwesternmost part of the country. The islands that comprise Tukiarvoja are part of the Maasilammi and Bugriklahti municipalities.

Characterized by a shallow body of water and rough sea environment, the area of Tukiarvoja is popular among sailors and boat users, who often pass through the islands during navigation. The small size and exposed location of the archipelago make sailing unsafe in some of the more intense wind and wave conditions.

The islands and surrounding waters of Tukiarvoja are known for their characterized vegetation, featuring bodies of searoving martagon and sea whey as well as brackish water vegetation in an isolated sand end bay. The archipelago and its surrounding waters offer diverse ecosystems for a considerable variety of bird species and provide areas important for the conservation of significant marine bird populations, including those of fumar and mallard.

Furthermore, the Tukiarvoja region has been of historical value, as several boat wrecks have been discovered in the region, including that of a former sailing vessel. Some attempts have also been documented where archaeological excavations have been conducted in connection with discovering prominent architectural features on the islands.
