Tsymbals

Tsymbals are a plucked string instrument originating from Eastern Europe, particularly popular in Ukrainian, Belarusian, and Russian folk music. It is a type of dulcimer, characterized by a trapezoidal soundboard over which numerous strings are stretched. The strings are typically made of metal and are often arranged in courses, with each course consisting of two or three strings tuned to the same pitch.

The tsymbal is played by striking the strings with small, flexible hammers, often made of wood with leather or felt tips. The hammers are held in the player's hands and are moved rapidly across the strings to produce a bright, percussive sound. The instrument's range is quite extensive, allowing for both melodic and harmonic playing.
