Tsingisoolense
Tsingisoolense is a rare and critically endangered species of freshwater fish belonging to the genus *Tsingy* within the family Cyprinidae. This species is endemic to the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park in southwestern Madagascar, where it inhabits the clear, fast-flowing streams and rivers of the region’s unique limestone karst landscape. The name "tsingisoolense" derives from the local Malagasy term *tsingy*, referring to the jagged limestone formations, and the Latin suffix *-ense*, indicating its place of origin.
The tsingisoolense is characterized by its slender, elongated body, typically reaching lengths of around 10 centimeters.
Due to its restricted range and the fragility of its habitat, the tsingisoolense is classified as Endangered
Conservation efforts for the tsingisoolense are limited but include habitat protection within the Tsingy de Bemaraha
