Trykkvarmeluft, a Norwegian term, translates to forced hot air in English. It refers to a type of heating system that circulates heated air through a building via a network of ducts and vents. This system typically comprises a furnace or heat exchanger, a blower fan, and a distribution system of supply and return air ducts. The furnace heats the air, and the blower fan then pushes this warm air through the supply ducts to various rooms. As the air cools, it is drawn back into the furnace through the return ducts to be reheated, creating a continuous cycle.

Forced hot air systems are common in residential and commercial buildings due to their efficiency and relatively low installation cost. They offer rapid heating and can also be integrated with air conditioning and ventilation systems, providing a comprehensive climate control solution. The temperature is typically controlled by a thermostat, which monitors the room temperature and signals the system to turn on or off as needed. However, forced hot air systems can sometimes lead to uneven heating in different areas of a building if not properly designed and balanced. Dust and allergens can also be circulated through the ducts, necessitating regular filter changes and duct cleaning to maintain air quality.
