Transsexualism
Transsexualism, also known as gender dysphoria, is a condition in which a person's gender identity does not align with the sex they were assigned at birth. This can manifest as a strong desire to live as a member of the opposite sex, or as a desire to live in a gender that is different from the typical expectations for one's assigned sex. The term "transsexual" is often used to describe individuals who have undergone or are considering gender affirmation surgery, such as sex reassignment surgery, to align their physical appearance with their gender identity. However, it is important to note that not all trans people undergo such procedures, and the term "trans" is now preferred by many in the trans community as it is more inclusive and does not require surgery.
