Tourismdepend refers to a situation where a region's or country's economy is heavily reliant on the tourism industry. This reliance can manifest in various ways, including a significant portion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) being generated by tourism, a large number of jobs being directly or indirectly supported by tourism, and a substantial percentage of the population being employed in tourism-related sectors. Countries or regions that are tourism-dependent often showcase prominent tourist attractions, unique cultural offerings, or desirable natural landscapes that draw a large number of visitors.

The benefits of a strong tourism sector can include foreign exchange earnings, job creation, infrastructure development, and cultural exchange. However, a high degree of tourism dependence also carries risks. The economy can become vulnerable to external factors such as global economic downturns, political instability in key source markets, natural disasters, pandemics, or shifts in travel trends. A decline in tourist numbers can lead to significant economic hardship, job losses, and social disruption. Therefore, many tourism-dependent economies aim to diversify their economic base to mitigate these risks.
