TopLevelDomainServers are a fundamental component of the Domain Name System (DNS). They are authoritative DNS servers responsible for a specific top-level domain (TLD), such as .com, .org, or .net, as well as country-code TLDs like .uk or .de. When a user types a domain name into their web browser, the process of resolving that name into an IP address begins with querying these servers. Specifically, a recursive DNS resolver, often provided by an Internet Service Provider (ISP), will first contact a TLD server to locate the authoritative name servers for the requested domain's TLD.
