Toonolian

Toonolian is a fictional island that appears in the British television series Top Gear, an automotive-themed magazine. The island was featured in the 2008 Christmas Special episode of the popular show.

The island was said to be an island where Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, the hosts of the show, competed against each other to see who could survive the longest. The competition was centered around the island's harsh environment and limited resources.

Toonolia was originally intended as a sort of wasteland but was actually found to be inhabited by islanders, including the mysterious Andrew Flintoff. The team eventually revealed the island to be located near Anglesey, Wales.

The show intro narrated an extensive and elaborate backstory to the island, depicting it as a "remote" and "island so hostile", designed to "bring men to their knees", featuring wildlife so ferocious and climate so severe, the islanders "barely survived".

Ultimately, the true purpose of Toonolia was a tightly held secret, which was kept even from Richard Hammond, a prominent character. In reality, it was built in a roughly 1-acre field, with only handfuls of manual laborers. Multiple stream, wave, and item scenes were simply cannot afford to import it.
