Tirian

Tirian is a fictional character in C. S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. He serves as the last King of Narnia, ruling during the events of The Last Battle (1956). Tirian is depicted as a brave and steadfast ruler who seeks to defend Narnia from invaders and to uphold the realm’s true order, remaining faithful to Aslan, the allegorical embodiment of good.

In The Last Battle, Tirian confronts a crisis of faith and loyalty as Calormene forces, aided by the deceitful ape Shift and by a donkey who is masquerading as Aslan, threaten the land. He works to rally Narnians, talking beasts, and other inhabitants to resist the collapse of truth and leadership. The narrative centers on his leadership, his commitment to justice, and his willingness to act in defense of Narnia in the face of deception and peril.

The tale culminates with the dissolution of the old Narnian world and the faithful being led to Aslan’s Country, the book’s portrayal of the afterlife or ultimate fulfillment.
