Tiettent

Tiettent is a rare and unique mineral that was first discovered in the late 19th century in the Tienshan Mountains of Central Asia. It is named after the Tien Shan range, where it was initially found. Tiettent is a complex silicate mineral with a chemical formula of (K,Na)2Ca2(Si8O22)(OH,F)2. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system and typically forms prismatic crystals or granular masses.

The mineral is characterized by its distinctive color, which ranges from pale yellow to brown, and its translucent to transparent nature. Tiettent has a Mohs hardness of 5.5 to 6 and a specific gravity of approximately 2.9. It exhibits a perfect cleavage in one direction and a conchoidal fracture in the other.
