Tiedonsiirtotekijät

Tiedonsiirtotekijät, known in English as knowledge transfer factors or simply transfer factors, are a class of molecules that are believed to be involved in mediating cell-mediated immunity. They are derived from the white blood cells of donors and are thought to contain information that can transfer acquired immunity from one individual to another. The concept was first proposed by Dr. Henry Sherwood Lawrence in the 1950s.

These factors are generally described as small peptides, with molecular weights typically ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 daltons. They are thought to be resistant to heat and enzymatic degradation, which distinguishes them from conventional antibodies. The proposed mechanism of action involves the transfer of specific immune responses from sensitized lymphocytes to non-sensitized lymphocytes.
