Tidsmanipulasjon

Tidsmanipulasjon, also known as time manipulation or temporal manipulation, refers to the concept of altering the flow of time. This can involve moving backward or forward in time, speeding it up, slowing it down, or even stopping it entirely. The idea is a staple of science fiction and theoretical physics, sparking much debate and imagination.

In fiction, tidsmanipulasjon is often depicted through devices like time machines or inherent abilities of characters. These narratives explore the consequences of altering the past, the paradoxes that might arise, and the potential for unintended changes to the present or future. Examples range from simple temporal displacement to complex branching timelines and causal loops.

From a scientific perspective, time is a fundamental dimension of the universe, inextricably linked with space in Einstein's theory of relativity. While relativity allows for time dilation – where time passes at different rates for observers in different frames of reference, such as those moving at high speeds or in strong gravitational fields – this is not the same as freely moving backward or forward through time at will.
