Throwinglike

Throwinglike is a term used in baseball and softball to describe the dominant side of a player's body that they use to throw a ball. A player who throws with their right hand is called a right-handed thrower, while a player who throws with their left hand is called a left-handed thrower. This designation is crucial for various aspects of the game, influencing player positioning, defensive strategies, and even offensive tendencies.

In the field, a right-handed thrower typically plays on the left side of the infield (e.g., first base, second base) or in the outfield. Conversely, a left-handed thrower is more commonly found at first base, third base, or in the outfield. This positioning is due to the natural flow of the game; for example, a left-handed thrower at first base can more easily complete a play on a ground ball hit to their right without having to turn their body as much.

Offensively, the throwing hand also plays a role. While a player's batting hand is distinct from their throwing hand, a left-handed thrower might naturally gravitate towards batting left-handed, and a right-handed thrower towards batting right-handed, though this is not a strict rule. The combination of batting and throwing hand is known as a player's "stance."
