Thr423
Thr423 is a protein encoded by the THR423 gene located on chromosome 12q21.3. The gene spans approximately 7.8 kilobases and consists of nine exons that collectively produce a single transcript. The encoded protein comprises 462 amino acids, with a predicted molecular weight of 50.3 kDa and an isoelectric point around 6.1. Structural prediction analyses indicate the presence of a central α‑helical domain flanked by a cysteine-rich N‑terminal motif and an acidic C‑terminal tail. The only post‑translational modification identified to date is phosphorylation of threonine 423, located in the C‑terminal region; this modification is mediated by protein kinase Cδ and is reported to enhance Thr423’s interaction with the co‑activator PGC‑1α.
