These devices measure the thermal radiation emitted by an object, converting it into a voltage through a thermopile or pyroelectric effect. Infrared thermometry is essential in situations where direct contact is impractical or hazardous, such as measuring the temperature of moving machinery, biological tissues, or high-temperature furnaces.
