Teuchezhs

Teuchezhs are a small ethnic group native to the Adygea Republic in Southern Russia. They are a Circassian people, closely related to the Adyghe and Kabardians. The Teuchezhs primarily inhabit the Teuchezhsky District of Adygea. Their language is a dialect of the Adyghe language, which belongs to the Northwest Caucasian language family.

Historically, the Teuchezhs, like other Circassian groups, were a proud and independent people known for their warrior traditions and distinct social structure. They played a role in the broader history of the Caucasus region, often interacting with neighboring peoples and larger empires.
