Tengerimalacok

Tengerimalacok, also known as guinea pigs, are popular domesticated rodents originating from the Andes region of South America. They are believed to have been domesticated by indigenous peoples thousands of years ago, primarily for food and religious ceremonies. Today, they are widely kept as pets worldwide due to their gentle nature and relatively easy care requirements.

These small animals are social creatures and typically thrive in pairs or small groups. They communicate through a variety of vocalizations, including wheeking, purring, and chattering, which can indicate their mood and needs. Tengerimalacok are herbivores, with their diet consisting mainly of hay, fresh vegetables, and a specialized guinea pig pellet. They require a constant source of Vitamin C, as they cannot produce it themselves.

Tengerimalacok come in a wide array of breeds, differing in coat type, color, and size. Their lifespan typically ranges from five to seven years, though some may live longer with proper care. Their enclosures should be spacious and provide opportunities for exercise and exploration, with bedding material, hiding places, and chew toys. Regular veterinary check-ups are recommended to ensure their health and well-being.
