Temperatuuritaluvus is the capacity of a system to operate across a range of temperatures without irreversible harm. It applies to living organisms, materials, and engineered devices, and describes how well something functions from its coldest to its hottest conditions. In biology, temperatuuritaluvus encompasses the spectrum from the lower to the upper thermal limit, with an optimal range where physiological processes work best. The lower and upper limits are often defined as CTmin and CTmax for a given species, while lethality (LT50) marks temperatures at which half the population dies under specified conditions. In plants, relevant parameters include base, optimum, and ceiling temperatures for growth and photosynthesis.

In materials science and engineering, temperatuuritaluvus refers to the temperature interval within which a material maintains its mechanical, chemical, and physical properties and where devices operate reliably.
