Temperamenttijärjestelmät, often translated as temperament systems, are frameworks used to categorize and understand individual differences in personality and behavior. These systems generally posit that individuals possess inherent, relatively stable predispositions that influence their reactions to stimuli, their emotional states, and their social interactions. Though largely superseded by modern psychology, the concept of distinct temperamental types persists.

Contemporary temperament models often focus on more observable behavioral dimensions.
