Teljesítménybottleneckök, commonly referred to as performance bottlenecks, occur when a component in a computer system limits the overall performance of the entire system. This means that even if other components are very powerful, the system's speed is dictated by the slowest or least capable part. Identifying and addressing these bottlenecks is crucial for optimizing computer performance.

Several components can become bottlenecks. The central processing unit (CPU) can be a bottleneck if its processing power is insufficient to handle the demands of the software being run. The graphics processing unit (GPU) is a common bottleneck in gaming and graphically intensive applications, where its inability to render frames quickly enough can cause low frame rates and stuttering. Random access memory (RAM) can also be a bottleneck if there isn't enough of it, leading to the system having to use slower storage for temporary data. Storage devices, such as hard disk drives (HDDs) or even solid-state drives (SSDs) in some cases, can bottleneck the system by having slow read/write speeds, delaying application loading and data transfer. Network bandwidth can also be a bottleneck, particularly in scenarios involving large data transfers over the internet or within a local network.

Diagnosing performance bottlenecks typically involves monitoring the utilization of each component while the system is under load. Tools like Task Manager in Windows or Activity Monitor in macOS can show CPU, memory, and disk usage. More advanced software can provide detailed insights into GPU and network activity. Once identified, the solution usually involves upgrading the bottlenecking component or optimizing the software to reduce its demands on that specific part of the system.
