Telecinco

Telecinco is a Spanish free-to-air television channel owned by Mediaset España Comunicación, the Spanish subsidiary of the Italian media group Mediaset S.p.A. It began broadcasts on 3 March 1990 as Tele 5, adopting the Telecinco brand in the early 1990s. Alongside Antena 3 and La 1, it has been one of the leading private networks in Spain, with a broad audience share and influence on popular culture.

Its programming covers general entertainment, fiction, reality shows, game shows, sports rights, and news. Telecinco has produced and aired numerous formats that have entered the national zeitgeist, including the reality series Gran Hermano (Big Brother), which debuted in 2000, and the daytime talk/variety program Sálvame. The channel also broadcasts national and international series, films, and sports events depending on rights arrangements. The news division, Informativos Telecinco, is a regular source of national and regional news.

Telecinco is part of Mediaset España Comunicación, which also operates other channels such as Cuatro and Factoría de Ficción. In addition to terrestrial broadcast, Telecinco distributes its content via the streaming platform Mitele (and related services), reflecting Mediaset España's multi-platform strategy to reach audiences across devices.
