Teadustulemuste

Teadustulemuste (Estonian for scientific results) are the outcomes of systematic investigation in science. They arise from research questions and hypotheses and are derived from data, observations, and analyses.

They can be quantitative or qualitative, and are typically presented with sufficient detail to allow replication, including methodology, sample size, instruments, and data. Results are reported with measures of uncertainty, such as confidence intervals or effect sizes, and illustrated with tables and figures.

In the research process, results follow from study design, data collection, and analysis. They may be positive, negative, or inconclusive. Reporting standards and peer review aim to ensure accuracy and transparency. Pre-registration and sharing of data and code support reproducibility and critical evaluation by others.

Ethical considerations include integrity, avoidance of fabrication or selective reporting, and disclosure of conflicts of interest. Proper authorship and acknowledgment are required to give credit to contributors and sponsors.

Dissemination and impact: results inform scientific theories, guide policy, and support further investigations. They are aggregated in meta-analyses and synthesized in reviews. Open access and data repositories broaden accessibility and reuse.

Limitations: results are context-dependent and not universally generalizable; methodological biases, sample limitations, and measurement error can affect conclusions. Clear communication of these limits helps users interpret findings appropriately.
