Tattare
Tattare is a Swedish verb that translates to "to fidget" or "to squirm" in English. It describes restless or nervous movements, often involving shifting position or playing with one's hands or clothing. This behavior is typically associated with feelings of impatience, anxiety, or discomfort. For example, a child might tattare in their seat while waiting for a long time, or someone feeling nervous before a presentation might be observed to tattare. The word can also be used more broadly to describe any kind of aimless or agitated movement. While often associated with children, adults can also tattare when experiencing strong emotions. The act of tattaring is usually involuntary, stemming from an internal state of unease.
