Tasikmalaya

Tasikmalaya is a regency located in the West Java province of Indonesia. It is situated in the southern part of the province, bordered by the regency of Ciamis to the south, Garut to the west, and the regency of Tasikmalaya itself, which surrounds the city of Tasikmalaya. The regency is known for its diverse geography, characterized by mountainous terrain and fertile agricultural lands. Coffee and tea plantations are prominent in the highland areas, while rice paddies dominate the lower elevations.

The capital of the regency is Tasikmalaya City, although the city is administratively separate from the regency. Tasikmalaya City is a significant economic and cultural center in the region. Historically, Tasikmalaya has been influenced by Sundanese culture, and its people primarily speak Sundanese. The area is also known for its traditional crafts, particularly embroidery and batik.

The economy of Tasikmalaya Regency relies heavily on agriculture, with a focus on rice, tea, coffee, and cloves. Small and medium-sized enterprises are also important, contributing to the production of textiles, food products, and handicrafts. Tourism in the regency often focuses on its natural beauty, including waterfalls, hot springs, and scenic viewpoints in the mountainous regions.
