Tarocchi

Tarocchi is a traditional Italian game of cards, similar to bridge, but with a unique set of rules and scoring system. The game is played with a standard 52-card deck, plus two additional cards known as the "Jolly" or "Jokers," which can represent any card in the deck. The objective of the game is to score points by winning tricks and making specific bids.

The game is typically played by four players, who are divided into two teams of two. The dealer deals 10 cards to each player, with the remaining cards forming the stock. The dealer also selects a trump suit, which is the suit that can beat any other suit in the game.

The game begins with the player to the left of the dealer making a bid, which is a prediction of the number of tricks that their team will win. The bidding continues clockwise, with each player either passing or making a higher bid than the previous player. The highest bidder becomes the "capo," or leader, of the round, and their team must win at least as many tricks as they bid to score points.

Once the bidding is complete, the capo leads the first trick by playing a card from their hand. The other players then play a card in turn, following the suit led by the capo. The player who plays the highest card of the suit led wins the trick and leads the next trick. If a player cannot follow suit, they must play a trump card or a joker.

The scoring system in Tarocchi is based on the number of tricks won and the bids made. The team that wins the most tricks scores points equal to the number of tricks won. If a team wins fewer tricks than they bid, they lose points equal to the difference between their bid and the number of tricks won. The game continues with a new dealer and a new round of bidding until one team reaches a predetermined score, typically 100 points.
