Talmatlán

Talmatlán is a municipality located in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. It is situated in the central valley region of Oaxaca, approximately 45 kilometers northeast of the state capital, Oaxaca City. The municipality is part of the Tlacolula District.

The name "Talmatlán" is of Nahuatl origin and is generally interpreted to mean "place of the hollow reed" or "place of the thicket."
