Talajszövetekkel, or soil fabrics, refers to the arrangement and interrelation of soil particles and voids. It describes the physical structure of the soil, influencing its properties such as water infiltration, aeration, and root penetration. Different types of soil fabrics can result from various formation processes, including geological weathering, biological activity, and human disturbance.

A common classification of soil fabrics includes granular, blocky, prismatic, and platy structures. Granular soil fabric is characterized by rounded aggregates, often found in topsoils rich in organic matter, promoting good aeration and drainage. Blocky soil fabric consists of angular or subangular peds, which can be either structureless or well-defined. This type is common in subsoils. Prismatic soil fabric features vertical column-like peds, typically found in subsoils with shrink-swell clays, and can impede water movement. Platy soil fabric, with its horizontal layers, often forms due to compaction and can severely restrict drainage and root growth.

The development and stability of soil fabrics are influenced by factors like soil texture, clay content, organic matter, moisture levels, and the presence of binding agents such as clay minerals and organic compounds. Understanding soil fabrics is crucial in fields like agriculture, civil engineering, and environmental science, as it directly impacts soil health, fertility, and its behavior under various environmental stresses.
