Takechiyo
Takechiyo is the childhood name of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a prominent Japanese statesman and one of the country’s three great unifiers during the Sengoku period. Born in 1537 in the Owari Province to a peasant family, Takechiyo rose from modest beginnings to become a trusted retainer of Oda Nobunaga. He gained prominence through practical leadership and administrative ability, and during Nobunaga’s campaigns he adopted the surname Hashiba as he advanced in rank.
After Nobunaga’s death in 1582, Hideyoshi consolidated power and pursued the unification of Japan. He defeated
Hideyoshi moved the seat of power to Osaka, where Osaka Castle became a symbol of his rule
Takechiyo’s legacy lies in his role as a unifier and state-builder who transformed fragmented 16th-century Japan
