Taittovirheitä
Taittovirheitä, also known as refractive errors, are common vision conditions where the eye cannot properly focus light onto the retina. This results in blurry or distorted vision. The primary types of taittovirheitä are myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Myopia, or nearsightedness, occurs when the eye is too long or the cornea is too curved, causing distant objects to appear blurry. Hyperopia, or farsightedness, happens when the eye is too short or the cornea is too flat, making close objects appear blurry. Astigmatism is caused by an irregularly shaped cornea or lens, leading to blurred vision at all distances.
These conditions are typically diagnosed through a comprehensive eye examination performed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
