TYPOlight

TYPOlight is an open-source content management system (CMS) designed for building and maintaining websites. It was originally released in the mid-2000s by Austrian developer Leo Feyer. The system was noted for its lightweight, fast backend and a modular approach that allowed site pages to be composed from discrete content elements and modules. Pages were rendered through templates, and the CMS offered features intended to streamline everyday web publishing.

In 2009–2010, due to trademark considerations, the project was renamed Contao. Development continued under the Contao

functions
such
as
news,
calendars,
forms,
and
other
interactive
components.

of

a

front
end
contributed
to
its
appeal
for
small
and
medium-sized
organizations.

Today,
the
TYPOlight
project
is

Contao,
