THLstä

THLstä is a fictional municipality created for a collaborative world-building setting known as THL. In-universe usage, the name combines the acronym THL with the -stä suffix, a conventional town marker in the region’s linguistic tradition.

Geographically, THLstä lies on the northern coast of the continent of Nordmark, at the mouth of the Svarn River. The area features forests, tidal flats, and a temperate maritime climate with mild summers and cool winters.

Founded in the 17th century by traders linked to the THL federation, THLstä developed as a river port and agricultural center. It gained municipal autonomy under Nordmark’s system in the early 20th century and has since undergone periods of redevelopment.

Governance is by a nine-member town council, with a directly elected mayor and consultative assembly. THLstä is part of the Nordmark regional district of Lirga and follows provincial planning guidelines.

As of the latest in-universe census, the town has roughly 4,000 residents, predominantly THLian-speaking, with minority speakers of neighboring dialects. The population shows gradual growth due to small-scale immigration and local industry.

The economy centers on timber and small-scale shipbuilding, complemented by fishing, crafts, and growing ecotourism. A municipal incubator supports local startups in sustainable technology.

Culturally, THLstä hosts the annual Lirfest festival and maintains landmarks such as the Old Sawmill Park and the Svarn River Walk. The town is depicted as a modest, resilient community within THL narratives.
