TERC

TERC, originally the Technical Education Research Center, is a nonprofit organization based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, dedicated to improving science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education for K-12 students. The organization conducts educational research, develops curriculum materials, and provides professional development and evaluation services to schools and districts.

Its curriculum work includes the Investigations in Number, Data, and Space mathematics program, a widely used inquiry-based curriculum for elementary grades. In addition to curricula, TERC develops assessment tools, digital resources, and teacher professional development programs designed to support classroom inquiry, data literacy, and equitable instruction.

TERC's research investigates how students learn STEM concepts, how instructional approaches affect learning, and how to increase access to high-quality STEM education for diverse learners. The organization collaborates with schools, universities, publishers, and government programs to implement evidence-based practices in classrooms and districts across the United States.

TERC also publishes reports and evaluations that inform educators and policymakers about effective practices and the impact of implemented programs.
