Tata Consultancy Services, commonly known as TCS, is an Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company and a subsidiary of the Tata Group. Headquartered in Mumbai, it operates globally with delivery centers and offices across many countries and serves clients in a wide range of sectors, from banking and financial services to manufacturing, retail, and telecommunications.

TCS was established in 1968 as the Tata Group’s information technology arm, with F. C. Kohli as its first chief executive. The company began by developing software for mainframe computers and gradually expanded through offshore and global delivery models, becoming a leading player in IT services and business solutions.
