Süsinikuarvuga

Süsinikuarvuga, also known as the Siberian stonechat, is a small passerine bird belonging to the family Muscicapidae. It is native to the boreal forests of Siberia and northeastern Asia, where it inhabits open coniferous forests and clearings. The süsinikuarvuga is a migratory species, wintering in southern Asia and Southeast Asia.

The adult süsinikuarvuga has a distinctive appearance. It is a small bird, measuring about 13.5 to 14.5 cm in length and weighing around 14 to 19 grams. The male has a black cap and nape, contrasting with a white throat and breast, and a grayish-brown back and wings. The female is similar but has a less distinct black cap. Both sexes have a white rump and tail, which is often raised when the bird is alert.

The süsinikuarvuga is an insectivorous bird, feeding primarily on insects and spiders. It forages actively on the ground or in low vegetation, using its sharp bill to capture prey. The breeding season occurs during the summer months, with the nest typically located in a tree or shrub. The clutch consists of 4 to 6 eggs, which are incubated by both parents for about 12 to 13 days. The young birds fledge after another 12 to 14 days.

The süsinikuarvuga is not currently considered a threatened species, but its population may be affected by habitat loss and fragmentation due to logging and other human activities. Conservation efforts focus on protecting and restoring its breeding habitats in Siberia and northeastern Asia.
