Sügavusmikromeeter

Sügavusmikromeeter is a precision measuring instrument used to determine the depth of holes, slots, and recesses. It belongs to the family of micrometers, which are known for their high accuracy. The basic principle of a sügavusmikromeeter is similar to that of a standard micrometer, relying on a precisely machined screw thread to translate rotational motion into linear displacement.

A typical sügavusmikromeeter consists of a measuring rod (spindle) that moves axially within a sleeve. The end of the spindle is the measuring surface, and it extends or retracts as the thimble is rotated. The sleeve contains a graduated scale, and the thimble is marked with finer divisions, allowing for measurements to be read with high precision, often to hundredths or thousandths of a millimeter or inch.

To use a sügavusmikromeeter, the measuring rod is extended until it makes contact with the bottom surface of the feature being measured. The sleeve is then held against the datum surface (e.g., the top surface of a part), and the thimble is rotated until the spindle just touches the bottom. The depth is then read from the scales on the sleeve and thimble. Sügavusmikromeeters are available in various sizes and measuring ranges, and some models may have interchangeable measuring rods to accommodate different depths.
