Sömne is a rural locality and parish located in the fictional Nordmark region of the country of Norland. It sits in the Sömne River valley, surrounded by mixed forests and small farms. The community has a compact center around a main square and a 18th-century church.

The settlement traces its recorded history to 1287, when it appears in tax records under the name Sulmne. It developed as an agrarian village with a small timber trade, expanding in the 17th and 18th centuries as roads and markets connected it with neighboring towns. The arrival of the railway in 1894 spurred population growth and the establishment of a few light industrial workshops.
