Særlegri
Særlegri is a term used in Icelandic to describe a unique and distinctive type of landscape feature found in Iceland. It refers to a specific type of lava field characterized by its unusual shape and formation. Særlegri is formed when lava flows from a fissure, or a linear volcanic vent, and spreads out in a relatively flat and extensive area. The lava cools and solidifies, creating a smooth, nearly featureless surface that can stretch for several kilometers.
The term "særlegri" is derived from the Icelandic words "sær" meaning "strange" or "odd," and "legri" meaning
These lava fields are of particular interest to geologists and volcanologists due to their unique formation
