Säteilyuhkien
Säteilyuhkien refers to radiation hazards in Finnish. This term encompasses the potential dangers associated with exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation, such as gamma rays, X-rays, and alpha and beta particles, has enough energy to remove electrons from atoms and molecules, which can damage biological tissues and DNA. Sources of ionizing radiation include natural radioactive materials in the environment, medical procedures like X-rays and radiotherapy, and nuclear power plants and weapons. Non-ionizing radiation, like radio waves, microwaves, and visible light, has lower energy and generally does not have enough energy to ionize atoms. However, high-intensity non-ionizing radiation can still cause harm, for example, by heating tissues.
The risks associated with säteilyuhkien depend on several factors, including the type of radiation, the dose
