Säievarmuus refers to the concept of thread safety in computer programming. It is a property of a piece of code that ensures it can be executed concurrently by multiple threads without causing data corruption or unexpected behavior. When multiple threads access and modify shared data, there is a risk of race conditions, where the outcome of the computation depends on the unpredictable interleaving of thread execution.
