Szögelfordulás

Szögelfordulás, in English angle of twist, refers to the angular deformation of a structural element, typically a shaft or beam, subjected to torsional forces. When a torque is applied to an object, it causes a rotation of one end relative to the other. The szögelfordulás quantifies this relative rotation.

The magnitude of the szögelfordulás is directly proportional to the applied torque and the length of the member, and inversely proportional to the material's shear modulus and the cross-section's polar moment of inertia. This relationship is fundamental in the analysis of torsional stress and strain. Materials with a lower shear modulus will exhibit a greater szögelfordulás for a given torque. Similarly, a longer member will twist more than a shorter one under the same loading conditions. The polar moment of inertia, which describes how the cross-sectional area is distributed around the axis of rotation, also plays a crucial role; objects with a larger polar moment of inertia are more resistant to twisting.
