Syötöihin

Syötöihin is a Finnish illative plural form of the noun syöttö. In contemporary Finnish, syöttö most commonly refers to a pass or assist in ball sports, such as football (soccer), ice hockey, or basketball, i.e., the act of transferring the ball to a teammate. The illative plural suffix -ihin marks direction toward the passes, so syötöihin can be rendered as “to the passes” or “into the passes.” The form is used in coaching, match commentaries, and sports journalism to describe actions, training, or tactics focused on passing play.
