Syylätyypit

Syylätyypit refers to the different classifications of warts, which are skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). These types are primarily distinguished by their appearance, location on the body, and the specific HPV strain involved.

Common warts, also known as verruca vulgaris, are rough, raised bumps that often appear on hands and fingers. They can be round or oval and may have a dotted or grainy surface. Plantar warts develop on the soles of the feet and are often flat and hard due to pressure from walking. They can be painful and may grow inward.

Genital warts, or condyloma acuminata, are a sexually transmitted infection. They can appear as small, flesh-colored bumps or cauliflower-like clusters in the genital and anal areas. Filiform warts are characterized by their long, slender, thread-like appearance and typically grow on the face, neck, or eyelids. Periungual warts surround the fingernails or toenails, often appearing as rough, thickened skin that can be painful and interfere with nail growth. Flat warts, or verruca plana, are small, smooth, and slightly raised or flat-topped bumps that can occur anywhere on the body, but are most common on the face, arms, and legs. They often appear in clusters.

Understanding these different syylätyypit is important for diagnosis and appropriate treatment, which can include topical medications, cryotherapy, or surgical removal.
