Syntansprodukter

Syntansprodukter, often translated as synthetic tanning agents, are chemical compounds used in the leather industry as an alternative or supplement to traditional vegetable tanning methods. Unlike vegetable tannins derived from plant sources, syntans are manufactured through chemical synthesis. They are designed to impart desirable properties to leather, such as softness, fullness, and a lighter color, which can be challenging to achieve with vegetable tanning alone.
