Svampriket

Svampriket is a Swedish term that translates to "fungus kingdom." It refers to the biological kingdom Fungi, a distinct group of eukaryotic organisms that includes yeasts, molds, and mushrooms. Fungi are neither plants nor animals, possessing unique characteristics that set them apart. They are heterotrophic, meaning they obtain nutrients by absorbing organic matter from their surroundings, often through external digestion. This differentiates them from plants, which produce their own food through photosynthesis, and animals, which ingest food.

The kingdom Fungi is incredibly diverse, with estimates ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of species.
