Supinationrotation
Supinationrotation is a term used in biomechanics and anatomy to describe a specific movement of the forearm and hand. It encompasses two distinct actions occurring simultaneously: supination and rotation. Supination refers to the outward rotation of the forearm so that the palm faces forward or upward. This movement is primarily facilitated by the rotation of the radius bone around the ulna. The rotation component refers to the turning of the hand and wrist in a circular fashion, often in conjunction with supination.
When these two motions are combined, supinationrotation allows for a wide range of hand and arm positioning.
