Suolahiukkaset
Suolahiukkaset, often translated as salt particles or salt aerosols, are tiny solid particles composed primarily of sodium chloride and other sea salt ions. They are formed through the evaporation of sea spray, which is generated by the action of wind on ocean surfaces. As waves break and spray is lifted into the atmosphere, the water evaporates, leaving behind the dissolved salts in the form of microscopic particles. These particles are a significant component of atmospheric aerosols, particularly in coastal regions.
The size of suolahiukkaset varies, but they are generally in the fine and coarse aerosol size ranges.
Beyond their climatic role, suolahiukkaset also impact air quality and human health. Inhalation of salt particles
