Sulfonylhydrazines

Sulfonylhydrazines are a class of organic compounds with the general formula RSO2NHNH2, where R represents an alkyl or aryl group. They are characterized by the presence of a sulfonyl group (SO2) directly bonded to a hydrazine moiety (NHNH2). These compounds are typically white crystalline solids and are relatively stable under normal conditions. The synthesis of sulfonylhydrazines often involves the reaction of a sulfonyl chloride with hydrazine hydrate.
