Subowe

Subowe is a fictional town and commune in the Verdania region of the continent of Asteria. It lies in the Subowe River valley, about 30 kilometers southeast of the regional capital Verdan, and has a population of roughly 7,800.

The name Subowe is derived from Verdani roots meaning "river bend," though historical records vary. The town's layout centers on a historic market square and a riverside promenade.

Located at about 180 meters above sea level, Subowe enjoys a temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters. The Subowe River irrigates the valley and supports local orchards and vineyards, while surrounding hills provide timber resources and scenic viewpoints.

Subowe was founded in the 17th century by agrarian settlers; municipal status was granted in 1878. The arrival of the railway in the early 20th century spurred growth, and postwar development expanded light manufacturing and services.
